Deep Space Exploration: The Strategic Apex of Spatial Expansion
Cui Pingyuan
Abstract: Deep space exploration is important for humans to explore the mysteries of the universe, exploit the celestial resources, expand the space territory, and create innovative technologies. It is a major activity full of challenge, innovation and driving effect in the high-tech field, and has become an apex for the space powers and space organizations to reach in spatial expansion and technological innovations in the 21st century. The moon, Mars, and small celestial bodies are the main targets of deep space exploration and are explored for different purposes. The US, Russia, ESA and other space powers and organizations have carried out the relevant exploration activities on them, and have designed a series of deep space exploration plans. With the development of a wide range of sophisticated sciences and technologies, China will continue to accelerate the pace towards the further deep space, from developing the capability for entering deep space, to increasing the capability for the use of resources, and then to expanding the deep space, in order to contribute to achieving the Two Centenary Goals and the progress of human civilization.
Keywords: deep space exploration, lunar exploration, Mars exploration, small celestial body exploration
